We are using Pioneer 3AT with notebook computer (Windovs Vista) for processing. When running GuiServer and MobileEyes original applications?warning packets?appear as follows: ? "ArSickPacketReceiver::receivePacket: bad packet, bad checksum" or "ArRobotPacketReceiver::receivePacket: bad packet, bad checksum". ? We?think that ?USB-serial converter caused these problems. We use USB-serial device from Aten UC-232A or Bandridge CPL4211?USB-serial device. We have updated the USB-Serial driver as already suggested on Pioneer forum and the update did not solve the problem. We will try to use some?other?USB-serial device to solve the problem. ? Could anyone who also use the?USB-serial convertor to successfully?establish the comunciation between the laptop and robot (and SICK laser) please?tell us, which USB-serial device is?useing (Manufacturer and type of the device)? ? ? ? The USB port of this computer has not the usual pinout (I want to connect a pendrive to it). It does have 2 files of 5 pins. Do anyone know how to route this to the standart USB pinout? Is there any device in the market ready for this kind of adaptation? By keeping track of the previous left and right encoder tick values, I was able to keep track of the accumulated encoder ticks myself while the robot is travelling at about 100mm/s. However, this fails when I increase the speed above 250mm/s. In the operations manual, it seems that the computer is actually receiving the current accumulated encoder counts from ENCODERpac SIP contents. However, I am not able to find any functions in ARIA which can provide me with the accumulated encoder counts. Please advise if there's any better way to do this. Thank you. Glad to hear it. Just to make sure you are aware of it, the robot does encoder integration itself at a faster rate than software receiving encoder packets can, and can optionally incorporate gyro corrections, and provides the position in the standard SIP (this is the X, Y, Theta robot position in ArRobot in ARIA, similar in Player and other software).
